That sure was a fast election

So we have our first black president. Cool. This blog isn't about that, though. It's about how fast we saw these results, holy crap. How awesome, we can see an election result a mere 4 1/2 hours after polls close... THAT'S AWESOME.

I like voting on a touchscreen. "Here's your ballot"and they hand me a plastic card. How cool is that!

"Fast election?" I'd like to know what made it fast. Sure, the electoral college counts were a landslide, but from what I saw, the popular vote was much narrower than the electoral college's votes.

...Or perhaps it was "quick," due to the fact that no one contested the votes, or  requested a recount in a huge number of states. Yes, I'm glad it's over, too.

Frankly, I'm glad we "broke ground" with a non-Caucasian President of the United States of America, despite that from what I've seen of modern society's "racism (which I truly haven't seen any at all)," we should have had an African-American (or any other non-Caucasian) candidate make it into the Oval Office.
